Fire on Top of Fire, 2018

Photographed with my Nikon F in Paradise, California, in 2018.

I woke up on November 8th to find my entire town on fire. I grabbed my film negatives and my Nikon F and barely made it out of the inferno. This photo was taken just down the road from where I lived.

I managed to shoot only three rolls that day, and for reasons I still don't fully understand, only about ten photos came out (more on this in the story card). This one has stayed with me ever since; it's one of my personal favorites.
